The George Apartments & Alex Theatre Foyer
The Foyer serves as an off-street entry for both the Alex Theatre and Cinema located on the first floor and the George Apartments in the remainder of the building above. Works involved creating a separate glazed division for the two principle uses that has been previously shared. The glazed wall, following the Theatre stair profile still allows visual connection of the entry areas whilst providing updated security, accessibility for all patrons and residents.
New coloured glass gold wall panels, deep red carpet and brass railing add a sense of classic grandeur to the theatre entrance, whilst for the residential entry, blond timber panelling and bronze mirror mix with the gold glass panels, contrasted by a dark slate floor tile.
